The Novice class is for kids and drivers who can't make 8 or so laps in the 5 minutes or are unsure of their skill.
It is an unrestricted class but as the drivers are inexperienced, we expect the parents of the drivers to make sure their cars are
appropriately powered for the driver.
Having an inexperianced driver running a 4WD Short Course at full tilt is quite dangerous for everyone involved.
This is also the only class in which reverse is allowed. These drivers are learning and are likely to get into tight spots.
Marshalls for this race should be the parents of the children or other appropriate personnel.
From 2016 onwards we will be running two classes in one here. The normal 'run anything' for beginners as well as an under 16 'Junior stock'
2wd buggy class. The Junior Stock class will run the same rules as the 2WD Stock buggy class.
Points are awarded descending from 30 with the following points scheme(s)
Place | Points | Place | Points | `Place | Points |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
1st | 30 | 11th | 17 | 21st | 7 |
2nd | 27 | 12th | 16 | 22nd | 6 |
3rd | 25 | 13th | 15 | 23rd | 5 |
4th | 24 | 14th | 14 | 24th | 4 |
5th | 23 | 15th | 13 | 25th | 3 |
6th | 22 | 16th | 12 | 26th | 2 |
7th | 21 | 17th | 11 | 27th | 1 |
8th | 20 | 18th | 10 | 28th | 1 |
9th | 19 | 19th | 9 | 29th | 1 |
10th | 18 | 20th | 8 | 30th | 1 |
All place getters after 30th get 1 point each, If a driver DNS they are given 0 points.
In order to be eligible for points, you need to be a paid member of ARCR at the time of the race.
Each 'Season' will be 10 completed race meets. Your worst 2 rounds from the season will be 'dropped' (removed)
and all the other rounds combined score, will give your final result for that season.
Trophies are presented to the top three place getters in each class, as soon as possible after the completion of the season.
Once 10 rounds have been completed, a new season will begin.

ARCR host racing for 1:10 RC off-road cars of which there are 4 main types.
Of these types there are 2 sub groups Modified & Stock.
The Modified or Mod class is the premier class world wide, and is the only class run at the world championship. you can run any car that fits within the rules laid out by the governing bodies around the world. A copy of Australia's governing bodies rules can be found with the link below.
The Modified or Mod class has 3 basic differences from the stock class.
The Stock class is a restricted class, and is for those who don't want the outright speed of Mod, You can run any car that fits within the rules laid out by the governing bodies around the world. A copy of Australia's governing bodies rules can be found with the link in the Mod section above.
The Stock class has 3 basic differences from the Mod class.
Just for club racing at ARCR you do not need to use approved Motors, Batteries & ESC's. These items must still fit within the rules, battery must be 2S, motor must be x turns (class dependant) and ESC's must have blinky mode where required. Events will still require approved items, and if you are going to purchase these we strongly suggest you purchase approve gear. This will help you be prepared going forward.
We run two groups in this class both Mod and Stock.
Modified cars can run pretty much any 540 can motor of any wind. Common winds vary from 10.5T down to 4.5T,
and there are No restriction on electronic speed controller settings other than the standard RCRA rules.
This Stock class is limited to 17.5T motors and requires a 'Blinky' setting (no timing) on your electronic speed controller.
Stock racing usually needs a different Spur gear and larger pinions to get to the right final drive ratio usually between 6 and 7.
This is also the cars used for Junior Stock.

We run this class for inexperienced drivers to race any 1:10 (or smaller) off-road car they have.
These cars can be from any of the above classes but can also include 4WD SCT and 4WD ST.
It is an unrestricted class but as the drivers are inexperienced, we expect the cars are appropriately powered for the driver.
If we see a car that we deem overpowered then we will help to reduce the power.
If this is not complied with we may ask the driver to leave for the safety of others.
